The SB&F Prize judges and editors of SB&F have chosen not to award a prize in the 2010 hands-on category. The judges and editors felt there were not any hands-on science books this year that met the high standards of the SB&F Prize.
In lieu of honoring a single book, a lifetime achievement award will be given to a hands-on science book author for their significant and lasting contribution to children's and a young adult science books. There are many great authors out there who, over the years, have written wonderful, quality hands-on science books. It is our hope that by honoring one of these authors we can continue to bring attention to the importance of hands-on science books.
The recipient of the award will be announced in early January. |
